Wana Watch? is a browser extension that helps you watch YouTube together with friends. We use Google sign-in and a Supabase backend to run the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Session data: When a watch party ends, we do not keep session-only data (for example playback sync state or other details tied to that live session). What may persist is your account profile and related social data you expect to keep between visits (for example sign-in identity, display name/avatar, and friends), so you can use the extension again.
The extension runs on YouTube pages you open in your browser. It adds controls so you can sign in, manage friends, and join or host shared watch sessions. Playback and video information are used during an active session to keep participants in sync.
When you sign in with Google, we receive identifiers and profile details needed to create and maintain your account (for example, a user id, email, and name/avatar as provided by Google and our auth provider).
Information you provide to use friends features (for example, friend relationships, friend requests, and related profile identifiers).
Information needed to operate watch parties while they are active (for example, session membership, roles, video identifiers, and playback-related state used to keep participants in sync). This is session-scoped; it is not retained as ongoing history after the session ends (see Summary).
Standard data your browser and our servers exchange when you use the service (for example, IP address and request metadata), which may appear in server or security logs maintained by our hosting providers.
We use this information to:
We do not use your information to show third-party advertising inside the extension. We do not sell your personal information.
Where applicable, we rely on contract (to provide the service you asked for) and legitimate interests (for example, security and abuse prevention), and consent where required for optional processing.
We use Supabase to host authentication, database, and realtime features. Google provides OAuth sign-in. Those providers process data on our instructions as described in their terms and privacy notices.
Profiles and friends may persist while you use the service so you do not have to recreate your account each time.
Ended watch sessions: We do not keep session playback history or other session-only details after the party ends; only your profile (and related data you keep across sessions, such as friends) is intended to persist as described above.
You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us at the email above (we will describe any limits, for example if we must retain certain records by law).
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
The service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you use the service from outside the country where our providers process data, your information may be transferred across borders. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by our providers or applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, and to object or port data. Contact us at [CONTACT_EMAIL] to make a request. You can also stop using the extension and revoke access in your Google account settings.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the effective date.
